“My mantra for this time, is ‘one box at a time’ It will all
be accomplished in its own good time.”
Much has been said about the Super Moon, Blood Moon of Sept 27, 2015. Super Moon, Blood Moon. Super epithets describing a fairly normal cosmic occurrence. What we do know for certain is that this a total lunar eclipse.
The Sun is currently in the early degrees of Libra, the sign of relationships, which puts the Moon in the opposite sign of Aries, the sign of self. This means that the issues involved are self vs others.
Eclipses are crisis points, meaning stuff happens, things shift, long-term situations that have been awaiting change, do just that. A tipping point, the fulcrum, or hinge upon which life takes a turn. Full moons release energy that has been stored up for a month, or in the case of an eclipse, six months or more.
In astrology, the Moon represents our past, our history, our reaction to stress, our habits and routines. The Moon’s role is to maintain homeostasis throughout both our physical and emotional body, and it does this through continually repeating patterns that have worked in the past. The Moon in our chart likes routine, yet fluctuation, ebb and flow belong in the world of the moon. Think of the moon’s motion in the sky, always changing, yet always tracking the same pattern across the heavens.
The word eclipse means a reduction in power or obscuring of an issue. During a lunar eclipse, the moon loses the reflected light of the sun on the side that always faces the Earth. The dark side of the moon receives illumination, which means, we look to the past, to things that have been hidden or forgotten. Past memories, past issues (in relationships) are brought to the light (conscious mind) and recognized for what they are. The Aries energy gives you the opportunity to change direction, to take action, to shelve those old patterns, and to create new pathways.
Busy times surround this full moon. Jupiter (expansion, opportunity, truth seeker, the traveler) is having an ongoing conversation with Saturn (work, tests, ambition, time, control, boundaries and reality) which is expanding our world at a slow and workable pace. Mercury (conscious mind, communication) is moving backwards having a deep and profound conversation with Pluto (power, partings, endings, deep truth) as the god of the underworld begins to move forward again. Add to that recipe, Mars (action, will, desire) has just settled in for a stay in the sign of Virgo (reality check, system management, critiquing.)
The cardinal signs of Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn will feel this lunar shift. But, the mutable signs of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo and Pisces are also pulling their hair out as more and more is piled on their plates.
My mantra for this time, is “one box at a time.” It will all be accomplished in its own good time. (Mars/Jupiter/Saturn). The important thing with any lunar invent, is to trust your intuition, your feelings, and your inner compass. Then, you can use the energy of the solar mind to navigate the path is calling you at this time.
Have yourself a lunar bath on Sunday night as the earth passes in between the sun and the moon, giving an eerie red cast to the lunar orb. Reflect on the patterns in your own life, and how you might implement small changes to meet the greater vision. As you look up, you are connecting to the very distant past, millennia past, and to the infinite number of eyes who have also witnessed and marveled at this cosmic event.
