“The results of Network Chiropractic go beyond the physical body. If you want
to change your body AND your mind, this is a tool you’ll want to use.
The relief is profound and the results are incredible.”
The year was 2009 and the day was rainy. I took a walk, exploring my town while waiting for some car repairs to be completed. You can learn a lot about your town when you get out of the car and walk around in it. The learning on this particular day was exceptional.
For the past few months I’d been suffering with acute body pain. My left arm hurt so much that frequently I’d need to support it with my right arm. I was experiencing back spasms that took my breath away. And on top of that, I had vertigo that was becoming increasingly troubling.
I was a mess and didn’t know where to turn for help. I didn’t want to be medicated; I wanted to get to the cause of the pain and heal it. And I had no idea where to turn.
As luck would have it, I wandered past an interesting building I’d seen a thousand times before, without knowing what business it housed. The sign next to the front door said “Way of Life Wellness.” I turned the knob and stepped inside.
The energy of the office was inviting, and the receptionist looked up from her work and greeted me warmly. I asked what kind of business this was and she replied, “We are a Network Chiropractic practice.’
BINGO! I couldn’t believe my good fortune!
Years ago, when I lived in southern California, I ran across an article in the Sunday paper about a relatively new form of chiropractic care: Network Chiropractic. The treatment used soft touch to “network” the systems of the human body by connecting the brain with the spinal cord.
The article described the treatment experience as releasing more than physical pain. Patients reported spontaneous emotional releases and healing during their half hour treatments (entrainments). I vowed to someday give this chiropractic specialty a try since it provided whole body healing rather than temporary relief.
Here I was, years later, suffering greatly, and finding myself “coincidentally” in a Network Care practice office! I had totally forgotten my vow to locate and try a network care practitioner. Now, living in a new city and state, the practice found me instead! The timing was perfect.
I returned a few days later for my first experience on the table. Fully clothed and face down on one of 5 massage tables in the room, the peacefulness was palpable. The music playing in the background began to do its work on me and, slowly, I started to relax.
Dr. Shima moved expertly from table to table, reading people’s spines, then gently touching them in random places. Within a few minutes I would be sleeping peacefully, unaware of her attention to my body as, for the first time in a very long time, my body began to let go.
Fast forward 7 years and I can say without any hesitation that Network Chiropractic has changed my life.
My vertigo was permanently healed during that very first appointment! The bodywork healing is a process that is unique to the individual. For some, the healing is rapid and for others, it can take some time. Time that is well spent.
Network Chiropractic is not a temporary fix; it is whole body healing. Taking time to allow the body to reconnect with itself, is a well-earned gift we can give ourselves. Our body, mind and spirit will thank us.
Personally, Network Chiropractic is a healing modality that will be part of my self-care routine for the remainder of my life. Although I’m no longer on a regular schedule of visits, I return whenever my body cries “HELP ME!”
Life can take a toll on us and since our body is the vehicle we rely on to travel this journey, just like our cars, the care we give them will play a part in how long they last. The choice is ours.
